Radon testing requires more patience than most air quality tests. Doors and windows stay closed during the testing period, typically 2 to 7 days, and in some cases up to 90. This is to prevent outside air from skewing your results. The EPA's action threshold is 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). If your home tests above that, mitigation is worth a serious look.
